Introduction to COVID-19: methods for detection, prevention, response and control
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are known to cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).This course provides a general introduction to COVID-19 and emerging respiratory viruses and is intended for public health professionals, incident managers and personnel working for the United Nations, international organizations and NGOs. Course duration: Approximately 3 hours.

All health workers require knowledge and skills to protect themselves and others from the occupational risks they encounter, so that they can work safely and effectively. This course consists of five sections in response to these needs: Introduction Module 1: Infectious risks to health and safety Module 2: Physical risks to health and safety Module 3: Psychosocial risks to health and safety Module 4: Basic occupational health and safety in health services.
